Women Supporting Women
The NWIN “Women Supporting Women” Program was rolled out on the 1st of July, 2017. The program aimed at providing a Self Help support platform to promote the growth of NLNG females through career development and leadership advocacy. This has started started with Direct Staff forming circles and the aim is to subsequently include all Women in the NLNG Family. 92 Women are enrolled in the Women Supporting Women Program with 8 Circles were formed with 4 circles currently active and have held about 3 meetings since inception with the remaining striving to catch up.
2017 NWIN Charity Visit
NWIN, as part of its benevolent gesture, has so far visited two homes for the less privileged, one in Port Harcourt and the other on Bonny Island.
The homes visited were The Compassionate Centre Port Harcourt and Abalamabie – Long John Compound in Bonny Island.
At the Compassionate Centre Port Harcourt, NWIN donated the following items:
- Samsung 5 burner Gas Cooker
- Two gas cylinders
- Wall Clock
Additional needs at the Centre include:
- Funds for surgery for some of inmates. The cost of surgery ranges from Two Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira (N250,000.00) to a Million Naira per person.
- Scholarship funds for children at the Centre
- Regular support for feeding and general wellbeing of inmates
At the Abalamabie – Long John Compound, Items donated were:
- Food Items
- Baby Things
